a fun one

today was an interesting day.

but fun.

we woke up late again.

showered.

read.

watched basketball.

and then ventured to a birthday party.

not just any birthday party.

an 89th birthday party.

for Bill.

he was simply wonderful.

we didn't know him or really anyone there.

when we entered the home Don asked an important question.

"What branch of the service did you serve in during WWII?"

for the remainder of the afternoon he shared story.

after story.

memories of the war.

both the good & bad.

it was a moment i wished to relive.

i was blessed to be among one from the greatest generation.

one whom was amongst the ones who saved a nation.

he was precious.

still very sharp.

and oh so healthy.

i felt so honored to be invited to celebrate with him.

to those who served.

and those who continue to serve.

in all branches of the military.
