"Hello. How 'bout that ride in? I guess that's why they call it Sin City. "
ha.ha.he.he.
Well, that was not exactly the experience we had,
but I did enjoy my time in Vegas.
For those of you who have been,
you know that it is the city that never sleeps.
There is always something to do & places to be.
Having not been I wasn't sure this really was the case.
But, it is!
We arrived on Sunday the 15th and headed to downtown Vegas.
Of course Brian, Scottie, Jenna & I were looking for
cheap food
cheap drinks
and to win some $.
We were succesful on all three.
Check out the boys yummy deep-fried twinkies.
Looking a bit to happy about such bad food!
After we were down downtown we drove the strip
so I was able to see it at night.
When we got back to the room I managed to get a nice view of the strip as well.
mmmm.
So fun.
Since it is Vegas and the night life is great,
we decided to take a nap and then do something around midnight.
We rolled out of bed and got ready and went bowling at about 1am.
Our hotel had a 70 lane bowling alley and $1 games after midnight.
Perfect.
Scottie got a bit loopy due to the time of day,
and was trying to be a professional bowler.
The smile on his face captures his joy.
After a few games of bowling we decided to hit the hay.
The next day was day one of my birthday week,
I was thrilled.
We got up and got ready to hit the strip for the day.
I am not going to talk about everything we did
because the pictures show it well and you can enjoy those!
After our day on the strip we went back to the hotel and ate some dinner.
We then took another nap and didn't know what the night had in store.
I must preface this night with a piece of information.
((I had spent a couple hours searching the internet about ways to get into clubs without having to pay ridiculous cover charges, and had come up with a few ways.
I presneted this to my hubby and he said it wasn't possible.
I accepted that answer and didn't plan on hitting any club while there))
So we went back down to the strip and had no real plans.
As we were getting ready to cross the strip to The Mirage a man approached us.
He handed us 4 VIP passes to JET night club for FREE.
He told us to go straight there and get in line and we would get in.
Sounded easy enough so we took off for JET.
Now remember we weren't planning on clubbing, so our attire wasn't up to par.
We got in line like they said and then we watched the minutes pass by.
Finally we realized it was just a ploy to get people in line & then have them pay.
As we were preparing to exit the long line that had formed behind us
a man came over and grabbed our group of 15 and told us to follow him in.
"NO WAY, we are going to get in for FREE."
In my head I was freaking out.
Externally, I acted totally cool and like I had expected it.
When we got into the club we also found out it was free drinks until 1am.
It was a blast and I couldn't have planned it better.
We found out the cover for the night was $50/person.
So here is us having a party in JET.
After our escapades at JET we walked the strip for a bit.
We got to bed at 4am and at about noon the next day
we were ready to conquer the strip again.
Heading to MGM to see the lions
and still on the search for the slot machine Scottie wanted to play.
Cougarlicious.
We finally found it on our last walk through the casino.
It ate his $2 in about 30 seconds.
the M&M factory was a blast.
4 stories of delicousness.
After leaving the M&M store we went to the Coca-Cola store
and had no idea what we were in store for.
The Coca-Cola Bear.
And a 16 shot tasting.
Flavors of soda from all around the world.
We each took a sip and rated each soda.
Some of our favorites were:
Sunfill Blackcurrant from Mauritius
Simba Guarana from Paraguay
Smart Watermelon from China
Smart Apple from China
Those that didn't make the list were:
Sunfill Mint from Djibouti
Beverly from Italy
Stoney Tangawizi from Tanzania
...
After our taste testing we went on to eat lunch and enjoy the day.
The boys wanted to watch the NBA game so we headed to the Bellagio
and spent our last hours in Vegas at the sport book watching the game.
Good thing the game was predictable & allowed us to come out ahead on our trip to Vegas.
All in all,
Vegas was a blast!!!
