Trying to catch up on life.
Here is the story of Judah and his near death experience.
...
The weekend Jess was here was quite eventful.
On Sunday morning we decided to go to the farmer's market.
Scottie & I had never been and thought it would be a fun time to check it out.
We decided to buy Judah a yummy treat.
It was meant for dogs & made with fresh ingredients.
We brought it home and gave it to him.
He ate off the head
((it was shaped like a dog))
and wouldn't finish it.
We thought he was being picky.
About 3:30am Judah woke up puking all over our bed.
This continued the rest of the night
and included a severe case of the rrihea.
He was able to sleep for about 30 minutes
and then would throw up or rrihea.
Sometimes both at the same time.
Needless to say we didn't sleep and were scared.
I brought him in to the vet at 11am to see what was up.
They tested him for Parvo & told me if that's what it was
it would take his life in less than 3 days.
Not the news I had expected.
Scottie & I made the decision to leave him with the vet overnight.
They wanted to watch him,
give him fluids & nutrition,
run his blood work,
and re-test him for Parvo.
((he tested negative the first time))
Expecting the worst I didn't know what Tuesday would bring.
When I showed up to see him he was back to his old self.
Bouncing around & so excited to see me.
At a whopping 3.4 lbs he was ready to come home.
After the whole scenario the conclusion was he got sick
or was allergic to the treat from the farmers market.
He was on anti- nausea meds for a few days and a strict diet.
The funniest part is he had a swollen face the first few days.
We are thankful for everyones prayers,
and are glad to have our little man back safe & healthy.
Even though the 48 hours of his sickness was scary,
it did change his outlook on food.
He eats more now & is not so picky.
Gaining weight finally.
He is no longer our little holocaust dog.
