so we must add another thing to our list.
yesterday we went to san diego for the day.
well more like seven hours,
but it was worth every second.
i love san diego.
we know some lovely people who live three blocks from the beach.
three blocks.
so when we got there we dropped judah off,
& grabbed the beach cruisers & headed to the ocean.
it is about a seven minute bike ride to the boogie board area.
arnold & scottie looked like little boys on christmas morning.
they could not have been happier to be there together.
to clarify,
jane & myself don't really enjoy playing in the ruthless ocean,
so the guys tend to play alone when they go with just us.
as they were playing a lifeguard jetski kept going by.
we all thought they were just cruisin' the coast to keep watch.
then we wondered if there was a surfer who got lost.
next thing we know a helicopter is overhead
& is circling the coast.
scottie said it looked like he was only fifteen feet above the crest of the waves.
they had this big white bulb hanging on the bottom.
then they went away.
we didn't question any of it.
when we got home we heard what was happening.
there was a shark spotting at lifeguard stand 19.
we were at 21.
the helicopter & the white bulb (infrared) were looking for the shark.
the lifeguard was keeping watch.
the jet skiers were crusin' the coast keeping watch.
neat.
all we can do is laugh now & be thankful the guys made it in safely,
& of course cross something of the list!!!
never a dull moment in the home of the parkers.
