42 days. catching up.

tea time for the sore throat.

a little birdie gave me the idea to catch you all up on somethings.

to be honest the list hasn't been getting crossed off quickly.

we space it out,

we forget to look at it,

& we even sometimes don't want to do the things on it.

that is the honest truth.

but,

i'm pretty sure we have accomplished some thing.

or at least i hope so.

12. Volunteer in the community.

i have had the joy of doing meals on wheels three times in the last few months.

i absolutely love it.

knowing that bringing a meal delivered with a smile 

& some love can bless their day is wonderful!

we are also doing love boxes for thanksgiving.

you fill it with certain groceries & a check.

drop it off at a local church,

they add a turkey & some fresh things,

then bring it to a family who would have went without this thanksgiving!

mmmm, blessings.

i hope they can feel all the love we are sending in our box.

28. Put in feather hair extensions.

i have done this in a simple way.

i just went out & bough clip ins.

that way i can spice up my hair or leave it in a high bun.

no worries.

i love hair & the endless possibilities.

36. Send postcards from California across the country.

they are on their way.

more are coming.

i have sent a few before.

oh, boy!

38. Get involved in a church.

we are involved.

we love our church,

if you don't recall!

excited to begin going to community groups weekly,

& helping out with the bookstore!

83. Eat an exotic fruit.

does a pomegranate count?

the hubby has never had one 

& managed to eat all of it in one sitting.

i'm pretty sure he didn't know he was consuming a fruit.

to bad they are so spendy sometimes.

otherwise they would be available daily for him to eat!

the ring.

a while back,

july to be exact,

mr. hubby lost his wedding ring.

i was a bit hysteric about it,

but over time came to terms with it all.

well just the other day when he was ready to leave for San Jose

it appeared!

i was reaching for a gum package that had slipped in the car door pocket

& wala! there it was in the gum pacakage.

weird?

yes very.

we were both so stunned

& still are a bit.

but needless to say we are still married.

husband wears a wedding ring.

wife wears a wedding ring.

whew.
no more people questioning us.

this is an email from the on site athletic trainer to scottie.


"She [Leon's wife] wanted to thank the two of you [scottie & lauj] for saving his life. Apparently, he has been battling lung cancer for the last few years and it seems as if it has traveled to his brain, as they found a tumor there which subsequently caused the seizure and then the heart attack. He has paralysis but is stable and doing well at this time. She wanted to thank you guys earlier but she has been obviously busy with providing care to Leon."


we rejoiced in hearing the news,
but at the same time are saddened by the news.
we would continue to seek your prayers for his family at this time,
as they soak in the precious moments of life.
S & lauj hope to be able to meet her this week!
