he is good // thirteen

with tears streaming down my face,
i am reminded by His overwhelming goodness.
my GOD is a faithful father.
He is THE king of kings.
i am His daughter.

as life goes,
storms come
& we are faced with the crossroads.
do we defame His name...
or stand in faithfulness knowing He is good.
this morning our car quit working.
i was at the post office dropping off packages.
after being off for five minutes while i was inside,
chauncey (our car) would not start.
after many phone calls to hubs voicemail,
frantic text messages,
& no replies.
i was stuck.
after three people said "no" to the obviously pregnant girl,
i climbed back into my car to find someone to help.
i am so thankful to have found a friend like matt.
he is an intern with the blazers as well.
he dropped everything,
told scottie
& then came to help me.

as things would go a simple jump was not what i needed.
a nice? russian man stopped to help.
he owns a dealership.
ran the computer
& then peeked under my hood.
proceeded to tell the obviously pregnant girl
how to lay on the ground
& hit the starter so it would turn over.
obviously i didn't do such things,
but was thankful for his willingness to stop & check.

again,
matt was beyond wonderful.
he has AAA
& we were able to get a free tow to the car garage down the road.
the tow truck man was a G at his job.
jolly, kind & helpful.
he also peeked under the hood in attempts to "hit" the starter.
at least HE was going to do it
& not tell me how to. lol.
no luck in finding the starter,
so he towed chauncey.
after 3 hours of diagnostic tests the conclusion was we need a new starter.
3 hours you ask?
chauncey decided to work.
then not work.
then not work.
then work.
& so on for the whole 3 hours.
as an honest garage they were not going to do anything until they were 100% what it was.
thank you Jesus, for honest men.

so many $$$ later.
a few tears.
frantic texts.
a starbucks chat with matt.
a jolly AAA man.
i am thankful to be snuggled with my pup in my warm apartment.
waiting for the call that the car is done.
thankful that matt could help me.
that he could bring hubs to work tonight.
thankful for an honest business.
thankful for a full fridge of food.
& thankful for pay day tomorrow.

God is good.
He is faithful.
His promises are truly that, promises.
Jesus is the King of Kings.
may He receive all the glory in this situation.

& in hubs fashion i leave you with a quote from an epic movie.

Frodo: I wish the ring had never come to me. I wish none of this had happened.

Gandalf: So do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us. There are other forces at work in this world Frodo, besides the will of evil. Bilbo was mean to find the Ring. In which case, you were also meant to have it. And that is an encouraging though.

Love how you saw the positive in your situation. It really gives life a different perspective. Praise the Lord that He is faithful!
