better late than never.

Well as we are 13 days into the new year, I realized I still hadn't blogged about our past year. In this last year so much has happened and it overwhelms us when we think about what the Lord had planned for us, and how He saw us through each and every step. I put together some pictures from the past year, and am excited to see where the Lord will have us in the next year! What an epic & beautiful journey it is when the Lord is in the driver's seat.

Well as the year started out..... My best friend of 14 months asked me to spend the rest of my life with him! I was ecstatic... cried a bit, lauged a lot, and finally answered "YES!" What we didn't know at the time....was the real journey ahead of us.

As the days of blissful engagement passed Scottie & I came to the realization that our wedding was going to be sooner than later. Scottie had been accepted to a graduate school in California! (and bottom line... I didn't want to be left behind come August)

So what do you do?

Plan a wedding in a short 3 months. Well I didn't do all the planning, let's be real, my wonderful mother did more than I could have ever asked for! She was the biggest blessing. I had my own personal wedding planner. Both of our families were extremely supportive during the whole planning process.

June 5th (half way through the year) I married the love of my life.
The best decision of my life. I couldn't have asked for a better man to spend my life with. Scottie is the most amazing husband; the Lord certainly knew what He was doing when He blessed me with Scottie.

For those of you who don't know.... our wedding day didn't fall together like movies show. It was everything but normal.... but c'mon... we all knew if something was going to happen it would happen to the Parkers!

It rained on MY wedding day! I loved it. I couldn't have asked for things to go much better. It will be a wedding for history.

A BIG thank you to our wedding party, family, friends, and guests who went with the flow of the wedding couple without a plan B.

We made the news. We moved a wedding in 45 minutes. We laughed. We cried. We prayed. We were in the hands of our Father. We were blessed beyond words.

So the year continues on....

The months of June and July flew by without a moment of silence. Staying out late with friends. Driving north for the 4th of July. Water skiing out on the lake. Deep frying at the apartment with who ever wanted to kick it. We wanted to make memories and spend time with friends because.....

We were moving across the country to California!

No exactly where I saw myself a year ago, but the Lord certainly did.

So on August 1st Scottie & I left for a road trip that would lead us to our new home. My papi drove the moving truck with all our belongings, and we drove Chauncey (my car). It was a long 30 hours through the great plains, Rocky Mountains, barren wasteland, desert, and heat. To arrive in a hot sunny California.

Since being in California we have learned so much, grown more than we knew possible, and met some wonderful people. Crazy Cali is what we imagined, but even more.

The beaches, the mountains, the weather. We can not complain.

We are excited to see where we will end up next. To see where the Lord will be sending us in a year. Who knows?!

In December I graduated from Northwestern College in St.Paul.

Many thanks go to all those at NWC who impacted my life in the past 3 1/2 years, and all those who made it possible for me to study and complete my coursework from California.

The friends I made. The knowledge I gained. The relationship I grew in with the Lord. It was worth it all.

So that was a bit of our year. We are excited to see what this year has in store!!! You never know.

Blessings as this year is a new beginning, and another opportunity to challenge yourself. Seek the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart!
