are you free?

I say to you today, my friends, so even though we face the difficulties of today and tomorrow, I still have a dream. It is a dream deeply rooted in the American dream.

I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: "We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are created equal."

I have a dream that one day on the red hills of Georgia the sons of former slaves and the sons of former slave owners will be able to sit down together at the table of brotherhood.

I have a dream that one day even the state of Mississippi, a state sweltering with the heat of injustice, sweltering with the heat of oppression, will be transformed into an oasis of freedom and justice.

I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.

I have a dream today.

-Martin Luther King Jr.-

has this dream become a reality?

Something to think about today as businesses are closed, kids are out of school, and maybe some lucky people are off of work. Is this dream a reality in the FREE nation we live in?

Last night Scotite & I attended church at Harvest Christian Fellowship here in Riverside. It is where we have been attending since we moved here, and have been so blessed by the community here. They have a passion for outreach and fellowship, so every 2 or 3 weeks they bring in a Christian Music artist to lead worship, and then at the 5 o'clock service to do a more extended concert following the service. We went last night not knowing it was a special night at Harvest. The musical guest was The Katinas. ((Back when i was little I use to dance around the house listening to them on my walkman. I forgot they even existed))....needless to say, I was so blessed by their worship last night. Their songs all followed the theme of FREEDOM. Sometimes it takes much repetition to realize what something really means. Last night my heart was bursting realizing (again) what this means.
 I am FREE
You can be FREE.
Jesus Christ has paid the price and set us FREE

Through You the blind will see

Through You the kingdom's come
Through You the battle's won
Through You I'm not afraid
Through You the price is paid
Through You there's victory
Because of You my heart screams I am free
I am free

Who the Son sets free is free indeed.

I am FREE

Through You the mute will sing
Through You the dead will rise
Through You all hearts will praise
Through You the darkness flees
Through You my heart screams, I am free!

I am free to run

I am free to dance

I am FREE to live for you

I am free
