birthday weekend

So the celebration continues on and Scottie is loving it. Let's just hope that tomorrow doesn't spoil it all. We have done all that he asked and wished for, outside of going to the beach. Due to the cooler temperatures here and our friends busy schedules we decided to postpone the event for another day. Right now we are enjoying time together at Borders reading and talking...while I get up a quick blog post! We crossed off two things this week on our list....

14. Make a cheesecake.

Well not only did I make one I made many. Instead of making a normal size cheesecake I decided to make mini cheesecakes for Scottie's birthday. For those of you who don't know, I do not like cream cheese or anything that has it in it ((unless the taste is very camouflaged)). So I thought if I made little ones we could share them with friends and I didn't have to watch them go to waste. Scottie's sweet tooth is very small and only appears on occasion, so I knew that he wouldn't eat a WHOLE cheesecake but wouldn't mind a few bites of one. It was very successful, and I was told they tasted wonderful!! Happy Birthday Babe!

27. Leave a (well-deserved) 100% tip at a restaurant.

We are going to have to edit this one a bit, and remove the restaurant part. Not saying we won't do it again, but Scottie decided it was well deserved my his hair stylist. This past week Scottie & Ali wanted to get their hair cut so they went to the local cosmetology school figuring it wouldn't be bad, but might take longer. For the price, the time was worth it....or so they thought. Without getting into details, the haircuts were subpar and it took 2 hours while neither of them got the haircut they asked for. In this 2 hours Scottie discovered the woman cutting his hair was a single mom trying to get back on her feet ((with many other struggles and obstacles)). She was super sweet and tried her best, but it was her first haircut on the floor with a customer. After the haircut was over Scottie knew she had done the best she could for her first haircut on a stranger, and knew her situation and decided to leave her a tip that was over 100%. He choose to bless her and all that she is trying to overcome in her life. We will continue to pray for her, and hope that this works out for her and her children!

Happy Birthday again to the love of my life! Here is a picture with his favorite meal for his birthday dinner!
