she said "yes"

It has been one year since Scottie & I got engaged, and oh did the time fly. I hear this is the case for the rest of life and as you get older, but until you get "there" you don't really understand. We are so excited to sit and be nostalgic of the last 12 months, but for today we are enjoying some time spent with friends and their family. Good food and good company. Sometime soon we will have a "date night" to celebrate, but for now I'll leave you with the proposal story. Many have heard firsthand, but why not relive it if only to be thankful for the purpose God has for our lives. Love and blessings.

""The beginning of an epic story.... On the way back from lunch in north Minneapolis Scottie asked me to read to him from the book "Love and War" by John and Stasi Eldredge. (We had been reading this book together.) As I was reading I turned the page and there was a piece of paper stuck in the binding. It had a series of numbers on it that I had to dyscifer and figure out where we were going......The code said "Josephine" which is the name of the park that we go to, to take walks and swim in the summer. So Lake Josephine was the destination. Scottie told me was going to give me a present becasuehe was leaving for California on Tuesday morning. I was super excited..... Hee prefaced the "gift" with the explanation that he had to get the rest of the gift out in Cali, and then handed me an empty frappacinio bottle stuffed with cotton balls. He explained that he was going to use the bottle to get me sand from a beach in California and then someday we could use it as a part of our wedding ceremony. I was thrilled!!!!!! I thought that was the end....... Then Scottie told me that inside the cotton balls were little gifts for m, so we began pulling them out. The gifts were little beads with letters that spelled out "Parker". I was a little confused but once I had all the beads out he told me that he wanted to give me his last name...I was caught completely off guard and then shook the bottle again and saw the RING!!! He got down on one knee and proposed! I was so surprised that I didn't give an answer for a minute and he had to re-ask.....I of course said YES!, but then asked if this was a joke..?! He said if it was, it was a VERY EXPENSIVE joke!!!! :)""
