a day of tasks.

Today was a productive day.
I love days like these.
I can make a list and watch things get crossed off.
What a rewarding deal.
I will say that I have been known to write down many small details,
just so I can receive a bit more joy by crossing more things off.
The morning started off with cleaning up the kitchen and doing some dishes.
Then Judah & I curled up in our "nest" and read some of the word.
mmmm mmmm good.
Definitely in a period of learning & discovering.
This morning we read the story of Judah & Tamar.
I thought it was fitting, since little Judah shares his name.
It also sparked an interest because Tamar is one of 5 women mentioned in the genealogy of Jesus.
Matthew 1 shares the geneaology account and the women included are:
Rahab
Ruth
Tamar
Bathsheba
&
Mary.
After journaling and prayer we got up to clean up.
Turning on a DVR show I got busy going through the stacks of bills & mail.
Made more piles to sort the piles.
This always seems to make more sense in my mind.
Anyways, after sorting things are realizing the timeline on bills & such I got to paying them.
eh.
Someday I hope it just stops.
Heaven? okay I'm all in.
When Scottie got home I had another list created of our errands.
Let's just say he was less than thrilled.
After making a quick lunch of pb&js we headed out.
Judah took a nap on the patio and enjoyed the warm sun on his tummy.
Off to get a hair cut for me & Scottie headed to the library to return stuff.
My haircut was nothing to write home about.
Lame pretty much.
I was a bit disappointed because I went to a franchise I knew from back home,
expecting a decent deal with a good stylist.
Wrong.
The franchise no longer exists in California & so they are all independently owned & operated.
There was one woman working,
they all set their own hours because they rent booths.
I had no choice...the not so pleasant lady was going to take shears to my hair.
A trim. Reshape. Bangs. Fresh layers. Please.
I got:
Long bangs after correcting her twice.
A-symmetrical cut?
Or more like uneven.
No re-layering.
So needless to say I won't be back & will retreat to my "no haircut" hole yet again.
After the haircut we payed our phone bill & headed to the doctor for Chauncey.
Chauncey is our car.
The doctor is the auto shop.
He needed a bit of love & we were long overdue.
After an overall check & them checking into things we were concerned about he needed some treatments.
Oil Change.
New bearing.
Electrical short to headlight.
Coolant fluid sensor not working.
We decided to go with all the work except the latter.
It was to take 2 hours,
so I had an idea...
Let's cross another thing off the list
70. Walk somewhere I would normally drive.
We walked home.
3 miles.
Not bad at all just not something we would have normally done.
...
My list for the day only has a few things left on it,
but they can be easily taken care of in the morning.
I can't wait for a new day & time with some good friends.
...
Check out our new page,
"about this girl & her man"
Fun facts and pics about us.
...
All our love & prayers with everyone back home.
May you see the light at the end of the dark winter tunnel.
Summer is coming!
Thanks again to everyone who reads the blog.
I really appreciate it!

we had someone drive us back. :) they pretty much called us right after we got home, and the car needed to be picked up in less than 20 minutes! oh and the haircut...eh. I just highly dislike trying to find someone I trust & not have to pay outrageous prices ((especially out here in Cali)). what can you do. it grows back!
