a beloved blogger of mine shares often about "love tanks".
hers, her husbands & her littles.
i have never thought much about it until recently.
i could tell my love tank was teetering on empty.
my husband fills my tank daily.
this is no reflection of him,
or of our relationship.
but we are not meant to live in isolation.
if you have ever moved to a new place you know the feeling.
wanting to know your way around.
desiring to find places you love.
& the constant wishing that you could have brought everyone you loved with you.
well,
that isn't practical,
in our multiple moves hubs & i fall in love more than we could have ever imagined.
we become each others everything.
best friends.
lovers.
reading companions.
partners in crime.
exercise buddies.
coffee date friend.
movie watcher.
sports enthusiast.
& more.
what a blessing!
but in the same breath,
it becomes a constant place of isolation.
it is us. the 2 of us.
i'm sure you could look at that list above & name friends that fill each different place.
when you move away from everything you know,
it takes a while to establish everything again.
so as i was saying,
my love tank was teetering on empty.
completely full of my husbands love.
but longing for more.
when my mama came i did not know what to expect.
we are best friends,
so obviously i knew it was going to be a blessed time,
but i would have never guessed how it ended up going.
my love tank is full.
spilling over.
she was able to fill it up.
we exercised together.
explored portland together.
she taught me to sew.
found new grocery stores.
found new grocery stores.
i got to share all the baby excitement with her.
she cooked for us.
& was here during a time when i needed it most.
the things i had been subconsciously longing for were fulfilled.
i cried when she left,
but it was not the normal depressed, sad, miss you tears.
it was love filled tears.
i felt SO free.
independent.
excited.
& content knowing i would see her again soon.
that she knew my new temporary home.
& we both know this is exactly where Jesus has us for this season.
how is your love tank doing?
