new // car

so.
what will be be driving to seattle you ask?
well, our new car of course!

those of you who have been around us since college
know that we have had faithful vehicles that let us drive them into the ground.
hubs van was over 300,000 miles when we sold him for $1 & then still got a few thousand more.
chauncey ((my car)) made it through:
two frigid winters
a cross country road trip to california
two years of california driving
a move to oregon
& then almost a year here

sadly,
chauncey has been slowly falling apart.
with repair after repair after repair it was time.
we had put off looking for a car simply because of the cost.
cars suck - if you didn't know.
buy a used one & gamble with more problems.
buy a new one & now you have a car payment.
don't do either & then you must walk or bike everywhere.
so here we are in march.
baby is on the way.
chauncey is quickly on the way out.
& BAM. baby comes.
as we were driving home from the hospital hubs
& i both realized how badly we needed a new car.
our vehicle had not been the safest for us.
now it was definitely not safe for our priceless little blessing in the back seat.
so we began looking.

after what seemed like hours & days of looking
we found the car that would work best for us now.
we sought out our parents for wisdom,
talked to banks & professionals
& then visited the car dealership.
after two separate visits,
an offer of $50 for chauncey,
& a 1 week old baby in tow.
we drove away in our beautiful new car.
& chauncey.

God has been faithful to us.
he has provided for our means.
we have been faithful to steward our blessings.
we never thought we would be able to have a vehicle safe enough,
gas efficient & reliable all at the same time.
after three weeks of driving our new car...
we are still in love.

so,
good bye chauncey.
you have been so good to us.
& hello.
to our nameless kia soul.

Definitely need a reliable car with a baby! Baby Safety First! Even though having a car payment (along with the insurance bill)..sucks. I tell the Mr. that we will need a new car in the next 2 years..his is way to old..and mine is newer but small!
