what i wear.

why i choose to wear my baby.

i wear olive every day.
after her morning feeding and wake time i wrap on my moby & get her snug inside.
off we go.
i make breakfast,
tidy up the house,
make the bed,
brush my teeth,
eat breakfast,
sit down & putz on the computer.
pretty much i do what i would before i had olive.
but instead she gets to be snug next to me & hang out through it all.
as of late she stays awake for a lot of it & only tends to sleep when i finally sit down.
she babbles & sucks on the wrap.
she intently watches everything i do
while listening to everything i say.
i tell her about everything.
i'm constantly sharing with her about stuff.
what i'm making.
why you rinse dishes.
the latest & greatest on social media.
whatever i'm doing i make her a part of it.
i love her.
& i love being with her.
baby wearing allows me to do this.

during the afternoon she naps on her own in her crib.
at that point she is independent enough & tired that she can do a full nap in her crib.
for her evening "un-happy hour" if it is just me at home,
i wrap her back up & we dance & walk around the house.
all the while she fusses.
if it is a good night though she babbles through the fussing,
BUT if you sit down she bursts into sobs gasping for air.
i love this time with her.
i know that the best place for her is attached to me,
& being soothed.
at this point in the day no amount of crying it out calms her down.
she loves being in your arms with your voice near her ears.
even if it isn't me.

to be close to olive.
to share my day with her.
to soothe her.
to love her with touch.
to fill her love tank full.
to have my arms free to be a mama.
to snuggle & soak in all the memories.
