This past date night was one of the most entertaining by far. We went to The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. It was not only a new and wonderful experience, it was extremely enjoyable and we can’t wait to do it again.

All in California! So for all of you who are hoping and planning trips out here, let us know, we would love to put in for tickets while you are here! It takes 4-6 weeks and you put in for a few different dates and then they send you a confirmation for one of them. Anyways, back to our first time with Jay Leno.
To begin, we were a bit skeptical. Scottie had went to Jimmy Fallon with Sam Hendry while they were out here this past spring and were EXTREMELY LESS than impressed. It was crude, rude, and just a yucky environment. We got there and parked for free (we didn’t know about this perk) and headed through the gates at NBC. We were kindly greeted and went through security. After going through security they took our confirmation paper, and gave us numbers. We were 125 and 126 in line. We then were led to benches in a line, under the shade of a canopy next to the building, and just kicked it. They had free lemonade and water and we just waited. More than one the Papers (aka. people in suits who were in charge) came out and told us what was going on and kindly asked us to squish closer so more people could sit. About 2:15 we started to move towards the entrance. This was about a 30 minute experience, as they had to take your number, get you seated and then let in the next bunch. Needless to say we got in and got FABULOUS seats. We were a party of 2. Which means great seats. Not close enough to go up and touch Jay, but great view of everything. Then….the party started. I don’t want to ruin it for those of you who are going to come out and want to attend a show. But…..just simply. Jay Leno is an extremely humble person. He took pictures with people, he came out just to meet the audience and just enjoyed himself. Following the show he had to re-say some things he mumble through and he was such a goof during it. He just did what he was suppose to, but not out of arrogance, simply out of request, and then he thanked US for coming….and headed out! He was going to a cancer benefit dinner, and well What is more important than cancer? He certainly didn’t think his show was….and that was a paraphrase from him.
A few things we loved about the show.
1. It is shot in the same amount of time it takes to air. So if there is 90 seconds of commercials, they only stop film for 90 seconds. It’s all real and live.
2. During commercials we got to see the personalities in everyone. Hugh Laurie is a quite a character, and sure seems so cheerful in comparison to House. His accent was so precious….
3. Emma Stone… well pretty much she is just as normal as us. She was just sweet and so humble about how to interview and what to do….She’s a baby.
4. Sarah McLachlan = angel. Her band was fabulous and her voice is breathtaking. Nothing more can be said.
5. We got to see Hugh drive himself away in his black porsche. LOL.

The worst part of the day was the traffic during our drive home, but if that is the worst…. really the day can’t be that bad. There is ALWAYS traffic in L.A.
When we got back to Riverside we headed to the high school football game under the lights. Scottie kicked it with us on the sidelines, and we had a great time. No running on the field for injuries, and great company!
Praying for you all and can not wait to see you and hear from you. We are going to post information about travel and such for those of you who wish to come visit! All our love!
Oh and another fun thing was Leeland at church yesterday. Who knew the experiences we would have in California! We have started to attend Greg Laurie’s church, Harvest Community, and yesterday morning we were blessed to have Leeland lead worship!!! They were fabulous, as many of you know.
Adios from Cali!
