New Home

Hello from Riverside, California.
Our new home, or more like our new place of occupancy.
New home is going a bit far, but I’m sure with time it will feel more like home. Your “home” is  your  sanctuary, right?
California is beautiful. I absolutely love the dry heat, and waking up every day thinking I’m on vacation. My life right now is fairly slow. I wake up in the morning, make Scottie lunch, drive him to school, come home and get stuff done around the house.(I kind of sound like a mom) A lot of time searching for a job, internship and place to attend church. Then around 3 I go pick up Scottie from school and we spend the night making our apartment more like home. Make dinner. Watch a movie and hit the hay around 10pm. YES 10 pm. We have become a married couple officially.
I was so thankful to find a job yesterday at American Eagle. Originally I hadn’t planned on transferring in from Aerie, but realized after looking for jobs that it was the best bet for right now. I really can only be working part time because I will be carrying an internship along with 8 distance ed credits. When I went in to talk to them on Saturday they were very hesitant to have me transfer and told me to come back on Tuesday (yesterday). I went in and talked to the manager again and they offered me a job on the spot and said they were excited to have me. Random. I learned that they had spoke to my previous manager and she highly recommended me, and also shared that I do a fabulous job in the back room. Ironically, well more like providence, AE’s back room associate had left….ta-da. JOB! I will start next week full time and learn the store better, and then go down to part time when I begin my crazy school schedule. The Lord provided just as He has promised.
New home means No internet. We are strapped for cash money currently so I’ve been spending a lot of time at Barnes and Noble. Thank you for free Wi-Fi.
Soon I will post pictures of all the current events in my life. Wedding pictures. New Apartment pictures. California pictures. but for now I will leave you with this…..
“The more you care about the powerless, the more power you have. The more you serve those with no influence, the more influence God gives you. The more you humble yourself, the more you’re honored by other.”
-Rick Warren (on the back cover of the TIME magazine honoring the life and works of Mother Teresa….a beloved and precious person to me)
