When you are a kid
you think that everyone is going to be your
best friend
forever.
As you get older you realize
this just isn't the case.
There are those friends who
chase you on the playground,
tattle on you,
sat at your lunch table,
stare at you when you walk in with a new outfit on.
Some you feel comfortable around,
others you wouldn't want to be caught dead with.
Many friends come and go,
but then there are those that stay.
You may not always see eye to eye,
but you have the best laughs together.
These are also the ones you forget about.
Sometimes you don't invite them places,
or are afraid they will tell silly stories about you.
In the end these are the friends who are there for a long time.
I am thankful to still have these friends in my life.
Jill & I have many memories together.
Laughing until we cried or even wet our pants.
Playing games,
drawing cartoons in church,
giggling about boys,
swimming in the summers,
building a tree fort,
talking about our weddings,
swinging in the hammock,
playing in the crawl space,
Sunday lunches,
and the list goes on.
Joe was a part of many of these memories,
only he was the older brother.
Sometimes partaking and other times being more of
"the" big brother role.
I have many memories of Joe,
many including Sunday lunches.
Joe and Jill are a few years a part in age.
I have been blessed to be friends with the both of them for years.
Now at the age of 22+ we find ourselves all enjoying
a day in California by the pool.
Two weddings already.
One puppy.
No babies.
Still laughing until we cried,
enjoying an afternoon lunch,
playing some games,
and making new memories.
I love them to death,
and I love the additions to our friendship.
Courtney is such a precious friend
& I couldn't have found a better match for Joe.
Of course, I speak highly of my sexy husband.
He is the bestest!
...
Some days I wish time would slow down.
Other days it is so enjoyable to look back on all the years.
To giggle and smile about the memories,
and realize the silliness of much of the drama.
Tears flood my eyes as I write this,
I have been blessed.
How many people can say what I just said.
I have good friends from my childhood.
My Father is so good.
On Thursday I wished the time would just pause
& I could live & re-live each moment.
I love my friends,
who through the years have become my family.
...
Remember to slow down and enjoy the memories.
Soak up the times with friends.
I can't believe how fast time goes,
but am thankful for all the relationships created during the years.
